Absorbable Polymer Technology Resources
Polymer Characterization and Device Testing Resources
R&D/Pilot Scale Resources
Special Processing Capabilities
As a growing R&D company with exceptional science and engineering resources overseen by seasoned R&D management, Poly-Med constantly solicits several government agencies for securing small business grants/contracts. A measure of Poly-Med's effectiveness and success in securing Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants/contracts was evidenced by its selection in 1998 to receive the coveted Tibbett's Award by the Office of Small Business Administration for the state of South Carolina.
Having a highly competitive technical staff of scientists and engineers, with established and growing international status, allows Poly-Med to consistently receive research grants which have facilitated the development of a number of novel biomedical products.
The broad-based expertise of PMI technical staff and senior management in the use of absorbable polymers in different biomedical and pharmaceutical applications as well as in-depth knowledge of various aspects of analyses and testing of polymeric materials and devices qualifies them to provide consultation to select firms in these areas.
As a privately owned company, Poly-Med relies on its proprietary technology as a source of collaborative R&D contracts based on licensed technology to manufacturing/marketing partners, as well as manufacturing of specialty biomedical and pharmaceutical products.
Poly-Med has established expertise and capabilities that were skillfully developed to support pilot- and production-scale manufacturing of Poly-Med proprietary absorbable polymers licensed to other, larger national and international partners. This makes Poly-Med uniquely suited to producing custom-made, absorbable polymers to select, non-competing institutions and production of PMI developed medical devices for sale by marketing partners.
